The Commentary

Perfectly relaxing Sunday fun day with my love.

Fashion Diary 103

Hogged and boozed and lounged like pros.

Today's fashion inspiration: the intricate textures and fluid shapes of the Rodarte show at PDC yesterday. I've always loved ballet inspired looks. So delicate and unapolegetically feminine.

Have also been loving the recent spate of pretty pleats on the Spring and Fall runways. Especially in the super tricky hem-length du jour: the midi.

Now, the combination of pleats and mid-calf length is not ideal for my hippy, waistless, boobalicious body type. Frankly, it's a garment that's not ideal for most body types. Except Amazonian sylphs. Way to make us mortals feel like freaks, fashion industry.

And yet I couldn't resist getting this skirt the minute I saw it. Paired with the Pradas and neutrals, I felt like a delicious bubblegum confection of girly. All day, I felt like I was floating instead of walking. I felt like moving. And twirling. And dancing. Dirty dancing. Like a Baby.

Wow....you are making me want to go to H&M and get that skirt. What an affordable alternative to the chic Halston dresses!!! Great post.

Was looking at the outfit again, noticing you were at the Grove! lol. I love that Crepe place. Great taste in food and local Los Angelino spots :)

This skirt looks so fabulous on you and I love the pleating.

We share similar body types and I have a midi length skirt that makes me feel so girly and feminine and makes me want to twirl too. I say if it has that affect, don't worry so much that it isn't the most flattering item and wear really high heels!

I think most women can wear the shape as long as the waist is visible and they put something pretty on the feet.
