The Scene

I neeeed it to be July 10 already.

Cannot wait for Sascha Cohen to take on the world of fashion.

In all its ripe for lampooning ridiculousness.

I am hoping I don't pee my (hot) pants.

And that everyone gets over themselves. It's called social satire, people, and it's not going away. Not as long as there's a first amendment.

I also hope if reincarnation is possible, I can come back as Isla and Sascha's baby.

I've always wanted in on a comedy dynasty.
And a British accent.

The Commentary

Built the outfit around the necklace today.

This dress always offers the perfect blank palette to use as a backdrop.

A couple of similar yellow color block dresses this week at the CFDA Awards.

Pretty sure neither cost $30ish dollars tho ;)

Meet the star of today's show: my newest Fashion District find.

Very Tom Binns on a dime, no?

The necklace specifically reminded me of the jumble of yum our First Lady wore on Oscar night.

Pretty sure this is the first time I've ever made a jewelry purchase with a First Lady in mind. I guess Hilary had her headbands, Jackie had her Gucci and Michelle has her statement necklaces.

If you are still not familiar with L.A.'s own Tom Binns, get familiar. His iconoclastic aesthetic is hot hot hot right now. After all he is being called the First Jeweler.

Love how he mixes punk

With luxury

So does Jessica Biel.

Heart any designer who waxes poetic on sustainability in fashion while drunk at the Hammer Museum. Clearly he is fun times.

Witness a recent tongue-in-cheek collection called "Get Real." It consisted of magazine clippings of necklaces, earrings, and rings, laminated in plastic, closed off with a safety pin, and retails for $125. Talk about Recessionista chic.

It was practically made for someone who swaps Manolos for Target on occasion.

Sweet necklace. I almost picked up a similar one at F21 a few weeks ago in red.
