The Scene
Before yesterday's wallet fiasco, my mom and I had been planning on shopping for her citizenship ceremony this week. Met up tonight for a looksee at Bloomie's.

Loved this Theory dress. In theory. Adore the paper-bag, belted waist. But the high neckline is not the best look on busty gals and the $300 price tag was just unnecessary. Reminds me of my H&M dress that I wore to the Saks party last month. That was just $30. F Theory.

After trying on a few other dresses, we settled on this flattering DVF top. She just sparkled when she put it on. Think its perfect for a new citizen - v. festive, v. Pucci.

I almost bought this DVF for the ceremony. Been digging this print since my birthday. On sale for $60. AND it matched my toes ;) But decided to refrain.

And I also finally saw this Marc jacket in person.

Had peeped it on the runway and thought it was leather. I've been dying for a black leather jacket. But all the ones I like are REDIC expensive. Maybe this faux leather will do...

The Commentary

Cannot get this delish woman in her pink and gray awesomeness out of my mind.

Hence the choice of today's pink and gray dress.
The little bell shape at the bottom makes me giddy. The sheen of the dress battles a bit with the sheen of the jacket but needed to add something with sleeves to make it more business, less little girl.

The last time I wore this dress back in February I paired it with Stella gray heels. Today I went less matchy matchy and opted for these Prada heels.

Even after a year, I still can't believe I own these ombre dreams. Adore. The curve of the heel makes the leg look incredible. Not sure how but it shaves five pounds off each leg. An engineering feat worth it's weight in gold.

Tried to wear a headband today but my fro wouldn't have it. Ugh.

Wish I had a fabulous job where I could have worn a fierce hat and disguised the weird curls that emerged this a.m. I swear hair days like today make me want to pull a Britney.

Enjoy some more gray and pink inspiration:

Simple basics rocked with great accessories and rock star attitude.

This evening look - I DIE!

Here's bad pink on JLo - hard material and shade of pink to pull off, unflattering through the middle, bad neckline, less than ideal length.

Now take a look at exquisite pink on JLo- incredible fit, sexy but sweet neckline, gorg color and over the knee length. A+

Remember what I said about gray scarves? Look how an all black outfit is made new with a chiffony gray scarf. Gracias, Gwynnie.

Confession: I crush on Leigh Lezark. I want her hair and her blue eyes and this Giambattista Valli.

Simple but chic look for fall. No fuss no muss.

Froufy chic look for fall. Lots of fuss and lots of muss. Adore.

Have to hit Phillip Lim soon. Still have a credit there from my birthday to use. Perhaps on some Fall 2008 gray deliciousness?

Speaking of gray deliciousness, The Peeper saw George Clooney this weekend. She was on her way home from London. She confirmed he looked hot. Though was shorter than he appears in her X rated dreams ;)

My friend brought her shiny new blue YSL bag to work today. I think it cost as much as my clunker car. I should've taken a picture of it.
