Wanted it so desperately to be spring today hence the floral dress.

Added the sequin vest because I'm ridiculous as are my hips so I wanted a bit of drape to disguise them.

Covered it all up with the trench and added the tights and tiny quilted bag.

Felt very Parisian. Which always equals an A.

Dinner with little Miss MBA. She suggested Simplethings, sandwich and pie shop. She had me at pie.

Almost keeled over when I saw the sea of cute savory and sweet little pies.

And a weekly schedule for pie nomnoming

And a little heart in my latte next to my itty bitty blueberry pie

Cherry on top of a tasty meal was wonderful conversation with one of my oldest friends. We met when we were both journalism grad students. Ten years later, we both work in social media. Me at a tech nerd company, her at Smashbox. She wins.

Or maybe I do. After all, I was the one who left dinner with swag!!! LOOOOVE!

Threat of rain today. BCBG boots to the rescue. Per usual.

Wanted a pop of spring to make my day and outfit less dreary. Enter a little Tucker sunshine. Loving the pops of yellow for Fall 2011 at Jason Wu and Victoria Beckham---two of my favorite NYFW collections. Today I paired the chunk black scarf with the yellow for a Proenza Schouler like contrast. Very bumblebee chic

The trench came next. OBSESSED with the leather arms on the Burberry trench of the moment. Until I get a couple thousand to blow on that trench, I'll have to settle for my old little resale find.  Love how the two plaids work together in this outfit.

Final touch of luxe: the LV tote.

Fancy all-day conference today at the SLS Hotel today. So I built the outfit around my newest, fanciest shoes.

 

Wore the high collared neutral dress to tone down the sexy of the heels. But had the stroke of genius to cinch it in with this old belt. Love the contrast of the femme material with the very utilitarian belt...well utilitarian for Dior. ;)

Added the trench to professional everything up and the leopard bag to Dolce & Gabanna things up. Think the three prints together made a great symphony of fab.

Perfect for a quick encounter with will.i.am. Life is good in my hood.
