The Scene
How much weight do you think it's possible to gain in 72 hours?

Let me rephrase that: How much weight do you think it's possible to gain in 72 hours when you have been on a steady diet of Sprinkles cupcakes? Well take that number and double it and that's what my thighs are looking like today. Ugh. Feeling Fats Domino.

A financial scuttlebut is swirling around at work and agitating everyone. Not fun. Just plowing through and chipping in to take pressure off my boss.

Best part of my day was making a first date with a new potential friend. Jean Bean has been talking to me about her fab graduate school friend Ms. Editrix for 7 years now. She has hopscotched around the country working at various chichi magazines and finally landed in Lalaland.

We are meeting for happy hour tomorrow night. Have invited the hilarious Mr. Architect too. He and Jean Bean were good friends in college too so I figure it will be a fun threesome. Excited.

The Outfit
Forever 21 jersey dress
Beige wrap sweater

The Accessories
Gucci hobo, sunglasses and scarf
Marc Jacobs pointy flats
Chanel necklace

The Grade
A

The Commentary
Wanted to feel comfortable today. Needed to obscure the three Sprinkles
cupcakes that have settled in and made a home on my hips over the past 3 days. F. So I instantly thought a jersey dress would spell comfort and camaflouge. And flats would be the perfect cherry on top of this Sprinkles cupcake.

This delicious Forever 21 dress you've seen before. Remember the infamous Diabolina as the Texas flag incident of March 2008? Love how the color blocking creates a slimming effect in the waist while the neckline draws the eye to the decollatage. The seamlessly hidden but still functional pockets take the dress to the next level. Adore.

This is probably the best weight jersey I've bought at Forever. Doesn't show every ripple and nipple. I know that's a concern with a lot of jersey but frankly I find it's not an issue with any of my dresses. You just wear your seamless undergarments and go.

Grabbed yesterday's purse and my fave Gucci scarf to contribute to today's proud American look. After all at 5:01, couples that have been fighting for the right to legitimize their love will finally be able to legally wed in California. Times they are achagin'.

Added the tomato Marc flats. I got these resale a million years ago and worry I may have to retire them soon. They have seen better days. But they still make me smile when I peep down and see the little bow and the subtle toe cleavage both winking up at me.

Felt like I was cheating on Chanel by wearing so much Gucci so threw on my Chanel necklace to complete the look. No matter what weight I am or mood I'm in, a little Chanel always brightens the day.

p.s. I wanted all of you to know that this blog is truly a dialouge. You listen to me muse about life and fashion and I do the same with you. You take my advice and I take yours.

To that end, I've seriously pondering my career path lately. You've all helped validate that I should be doing one of two things: fashion or writing. And ideally, something that mixes the two.

Today, I saw a posting for a job that would be just that - a corporate copywriter at Forever 21. I know. Ideal job for me, right? After all I am the brand's biggest customer and most loyal advocate.

Just wanted to tell all of you how meaningful your support has been over the past 6 months. I have the feeling it's going to help guide me to the professional fulfillment I've been looking for my entire adult life. I wanted to say thank you for being a part of that.

What a fan-freakin-tastic job for you! Fingers, toes, arms & legs crossed for you and this new venture!

I'm thinking you should just keep those Marc flats forever. I adore them to pieces.

I am *always* Fats Domino. Muahahahahaha.
