The Scene
I swear every other time I pick up dinner at Un Poquito Mas, I see someone famous. Today it was Matthew Perry. I was waiting in line when in he walked. I glanced in his general direction and he smiled broadly, directly at me, hungry to be recognized.

And yet I almost didn't recognize him. Sadly, Chanandler Bong is starting to go gray and looking like he's been eating, um, bastante mas. But I'm not one to talk ;(

Quiet evening tonight. Mr. D is still reeling from the layoffs. So sad to see him sad.

The Commentary

This is one of the first things I ever bought at Forever 21. Got it - gawd - more than 5 years ago. But I hardly ever wear it. Have a bit of complex that I look like a candy striper in it.

And yet the cut is so flattering that I can't part with it. Found a similar Smythe Equestrian blazer. Cost? A whopping $585. Humph.

Pretty sure my blazer cost under $30. And that's in 2003 dollars.

So I decided to dust off the jacket today. Remembered Marc showed similar seersucker-esque blazers for spring in his diffusion line.

Thought about belting the jacket today. But nixed the idea. Would have been too fussy with the bow on my jacket.

Added the fabric necklace at the last minute. For a bit of color and girliness and stripeyness.

Like my necklace waaaay beter than the ones Marc showed.

Feels like I could go to Sports Chalet and string together this look myself with some hiking boot laces, no?

Added the blue peep toe wedges to pick up the color in the necklace and add yet AH-nother stripey element to the outfit.

Like Marc I'm pretty stripe crazy right now

And strap crazy too (that's what she said)

Though I'm not crazy about either one of these "tie me up, tie me down" Marc shoes

Too fugly chic for me.

I could get down with this Rainbow Bright meets grandpa Marc blazer.

But I DIE for this DVF one.

Wish Whitney had styled it better. There's just too much going on in this outfit and most of it unflattering.

Much prefer Olivia's take on the striped jacket.
Ugh. Did I just compliment her?

Maybe he wasn't so much hungry to be recognized as politely smiling at someone looking at him? ;-)
