The Scene

Late night

= late start this morning

Decided to brave the midday heat and check out The Viceroy.

Nabbed a table under a scary mirror that also provided a front row seat to some fright fest sights by the pool.

Thankfully the food and drinks made up for the Ed Hardy-ness all around us.

Regretfully, this was the end of the road for Mr. Architect and Silver Haired Fox. They had to head back to L.A. after lunch. Boo hoo.

They didn't miss much. Just more glorious lounging and laughing in the pool until dinner time.

Me cooking the most I've ever willingly cooked.

In my life.

And Mr. D eating the most he's ever eaten.

In his life.

The Outfit
Marc by Marc Jacobs dress

The Accessories
J Crew belt
Alice Roi clutch
Chloe sunglasses
Cole Haan sandals

The Grade
B+

The Commentary

Wanted to rock summer edgy like Rihanna today

Maybe attempt the see-through trend ala Gwen

But the end I went for what I do best: classic girly princess.

I'm more of a Blair than an Amber Rose after all.

Nothing wrong with that.

Just could have upped the ante by pairing the floaty dress with more of the moment shoes.

Love that my attempt at edge - a neon belt - matched Daisy Duke's neon bandeau.

Just like my graying puppy and Silver Haired Fox were both pretty in plaid.

Nothing like fashionable hot chick besties.

The Scene
Taking the day off tomorrow to make it an extra long long weekend. Had to make it an extra long long day to get everything done. Blah.

Got home around 9 pm. Just in time for Project Runway. Is it weird that Rachel Bilson's tights made my day?

The Outfit

Ann Taylor button down
Seven for All Mankind skirt

The Accessories
Chanel bag
Fashion District necklace and ring
Cole Haan peep toes

The Grade
Pass

The Commentary
Just knew I needed to get through the day so threw something on.

Ended up a cross between Carrie

And Carine.

Have been craving the perfect boyfriend shirt all summer.

One that I could wear as a dress. Preferably belted. And with twentysomething legs ;)

Added the tangled necklace to keep the look interesting.

Which made me Carrie meets Carine meets Olivia. What a group of yentas THAT would be a dinner party!

The Scene
Big announcement at The Office today. Chapter 11 big.

I'd known this was coming for months so I was actually MUCH more shocked by a co-worker choosing to wear these shoes today than with the actual announcement. DEAR GOD WHAT'VE I DONE TO DESERVE WEBBED TOES??

Good news: Everything is business as usual. Bad news: Everything is business as usual. Sigh.

Since my momma knew I'd had a rough week, she whisked me away to a lovely French lunch this afternoon.

She also wanted to make sure I got this "before" shot of her hair.

I booked her Brazilian Blowout appointment at The Argyle for this afternoon. Ironically, Nicole Richie tweeted about introducing her mom to the Brazilian this week. Great minds...

Met her for dinner at Fat Fish to behold her PHAT new locks. Think hers turned out even better than mine!!! The highlights look insane! YAYAYYAYA

At least I helped this pretty little baby face end the week with a smile ;)

The Outfit

Ann Taylor button down
Rogan for Target trougsers

The Accessories
Me&Ro neclaces
Louis Vuitton earrings and Damier tote
Cole Haan wedges

The Grade
C-

The Commentary

Knew the announcement was happening today so wanted to be a little dressed up for it.

Not sure why a button down and wide leg trousers screamed "bankruptcy appropriate." Maybe it's my old white man outfit ;)

Regardless I felt FRUMPTIFIED all day. Should have worn hotter shoes

And a more feminine top to feel more me.

Not sure why but I find skinny pants much easier to style than voluminous ones.

Though I have to draw the line at jeggings. Sorry Beyonce.

Now sequin leggings for evening I could get down with...

Just not with this particular top.

I think this is what Blake was going for

See how the length/cut of the button down, texture of the leggings and choice of accessories make all the difference?

I know my outfit could have benefitted from better accessories today -namely a cool belt.

But in an environment where people wear Aquaman shoe socks what does it really matter what I wear. {crying}
