Last day of work this week. Management lets us loose at 2 pm. Thank the baby Jesus on the eve of his birth ;)
Since my mom can't meet me until 5 and Mr. D is with his family, I decide to kill some time at one of my favorite resale haunts. The minute I enter the store, my salesladies pounce. Like Chanel-wearing hyennas they circle me, salivating. They waste no time in informing me everthing is 40 percent off...for loyal customers like me. Trouble. Have been itching to shop after not buying ANYTHING in NYC.
I spy two tone Chanel heels with interlocking C's at the ankle
that remind me of the Spring 2009 YSL cage heels I fell for last October.
A vintage Yves Saint Laurent bolero
Similar to all the incredible lace I've been loving at Prada this entire season
And a Giorgio Armani blazer much like the striped, asymmetrical one that
Three classic, gorgeous, designer pieces that fit me like a glove for a grand total of $340. It's beginning to look alot like Christmas.
For dinner, my mom brings over enormous tamales which we inhale by the glow of our Christmas tree. This is one of our holiday traditions that I cherish. Makes me feel connected to our family in Guatemala. Makes me remember I DO have a family...even if they are a world away.
We also check out the end-of-year video M&M's created to chronicle her recovery from May's plane crash. So inspiring to see the strength of her spirit. Also a humbling reminder to be thankful for the little things, to treat our bodies with the respect and care they deserve.
My mom and I end the night by watching Frost/Nixon. It's entertaining nuff. But every film I see about Nixon paints him in such broad strokes that he seems like a caricature. Would love to see a documentary about him, see actual footage.
Me thinks watching more American history documentaries is going to be one of my 2009 resolutions. What.A.Nerd.

Wasn't feeling very creative this rainy overcast morning. Neither was J Lo. She wore an eerily similar outfit while doing some last minute shopping in Beverly Hills.

Decided to add a bit of sass to the all black oufit with a simple chiffon leopard scarf that I've had since high school.
My mom once again got the psychic memo and wore a leopard print sweater. JINX.
We are so000 the brown Carine and Julia :)
I think every woman should own a leopard print scarf.
It is a fashionista staple like a LBD or chic ballet flats.
So many ways to interpret it year round.
Can dress it up for evening or down for day.
Dug out this beautiful cuff my mom bought me downtown a few weeks ago for just the right subtle hint of holiday sparkle.
Added the red Marc bag to feel Christmas-y. And matchy match my mom!
Merry Christmas to all! Sending you good fashion present vibes!! Can't wait to hear what Santa brought you :)

We don't celebrate really, but Po's brother and sister-in-law gave me a hideously tiny bright red zip hoodie with "POLO" loudly emblazoned in white across the chest.
Gah.
I love that you and your mom have psychic fashion moments.
Funniest thing, I got a full length down coat that i could have lent your for your trip to NY. My friend gave it to me in anticipation of my home coming next year. Fab coat. Merry Christmas.
