The Scene
Back in The Office.

Mr. Diabolina takes my mom in to get the MRI today. It will be another day before Specialist #1 can look at the results and nearly a week until Specialist #2 can. Ugh. All this waiting is maddening. I have constant nausea lately from all the anticipation.

This evening, Mr. D and I decide to cancel our trip to D.C. next week. We'd planned it months ago. We were going to have a few days in the city (the mister has never been!) and then travel into Virginia for the USC season opener - and a little bed and breakfasting.

But given everything that's going on, we think it's best to stay close to home. My mom wanted us to go but we figure we'll get away when the time is right...

The Commentary
A girl at work today said, "Love the Pucci." I smiled warily and whispered "It's actually Pucci-inspired Forever 21." Both she and her Balenciaga bag were SHOCKED. Perhaps even horrified.

It would be so easy to fool alot of people into thinking I dressed designer from head to toe. Loads of people just assume. And the knock offs seem to get better and better.

But that's just not me. Not interested in fronting. Not very good at it either. What's the point, right?

Adoring all things Pucci-flavored this summer. The carnival dress a few weeks ago got things started. And receiving my first Pucci piece for my birthday sealed the deal. Need to debut the scarf already. All I do is pet it and admire it in my closet and call it "the precious." Maybe this weekend...

This top is a little Halloween on acid, no? I feel a bit Mrs. Roper in it. But it's pure, unadulterated fun. So colorful and whimsical and well, I needed a pick me up today. Plus, according to Refinery29, pops of orange are "in" for fall. Feels like EVERYTHING is in this fall ;)

Decided to tuck the top into my skirt this morning to change things up, create a sleeker, more Fall 2008 silhouette.

It works untucked too but tucked is much more of the moment. It shows the waist instead of creating the preggers effect that has been in for what seems like two years now...

Wore the sandals again today. I AM IN LOVE WITH THEM. So comfy and cool. So on trend but not trendy. So me.

Noticed men seem really perplexed by them. A bit discombobulated too. Always a good thing in my book.

Here are some of my favorite Pucci celeb looks - so Barbi-licious, so St. Tropez, so fancy-free.

I LOVE your top and Nicole Richie's blue Pucci dress. I wonder what a shocked Balenciaga bag looks like :-)

LOL. I love it when they're eyes bug out as soon as you confess it's from F21! I'm like you... I never try front about my non-designer wear! I'm proud that I found something that looks designer/expensive.

Love the look. You would have been distracted on the trip, so it's probably best that you save it for another time. Hugs to you and mama.

And ugh, I want to eat that Suri Cruise up. She is so adorable.

I'm not a mother, but Suri is too old to be drinking out of a bottle.
