Spring 2012: Still Stripes

The Scene

Last month, Jean Bean and Texas Cowboy FINALLY came to my bosom for a whirlwind L.A. visit.

On their last day, we took them to Bottega Louie for brunch

And USC for an old alum visit.

We reminisced about football games and volleyball classes

Marveled at the new student center and bemoaned not having a gastropub in our day.

Coveted elevator buttons. Yes, elevator buttons.

Peeped Ronald McDonald alumni wear

And slutty hot chick student barely there

We nearly broke a hip checking out a part of the bookstore that didn't exist when we were students.

We old. Thank god we cute!

Have practically lived in these jeans this summer.

Paired them with a summer knit top from F21. Isn't super flattering because of that blousy shape but I love the color combo. But it was like 14 dolla.

Added the arm party inspired by Man Repeller. And the fun purse to pick up the pink and the texture of the top.

Cherry on top: the hat. Mr. D loves the hat.

Happy the stripes will still be big next Spring. Here they are at Peter Som SS 2012

It was my company's 16th birthday today so decided a festive outfit was in order. 

 Enter my clowny striped dress.

Cinched with a belt and shoes to match.

Leopard purse to pull together the black and white and carmel brown.

I swear if you haven't mixed prints yet, I'm going to come over to your house and do it for you.

Rain today after summer-like weather. Horror.

I've taken to wearing some kind of boot every time water comes out of the sky. Minimizes the chances that I fall down and break a hip.

Paired them with the striped top and the printed trench and leggings.

A neutral bag with a little flair

And my favorite necklace and lip color.

I could literally wear stripes every day lately. Built the outfit around them today. Obessed with how cool French girl chic they become when paired with a khaki jacket and dark denim.

Made the look a bit unexpected and retro with the cropped jeans. Wish these jeans were more fitted through the knee but they cost so little that meh, they'll do. Plus the pretty dolly mary janes help.  They added a super femme vibe to an otherwise very practical look. Tres Isabel Marant too.
