Personal day. Figured I was heading out to Palm Springs for bachelorette partying tomorrow and would spend most of Sunday recovering. So today, I could run errands and ease into the weekend. That's how old nerds roll, k?
After handling a conference call from home, straightening up the house and running errands in the morning, it was time to indulge in afternoon off activities. First stop: Tar-jay. Hadn't been in ages. Didn't plan to buy a new swimsuit but the color, detailing and fit of this bikini were too perfect to turn down. $14.99 for each piece.
Also found this top on sale for $12. Very Marni, very fugly hot. Loving the voluminous sleeves. Will wear it with shorts and flats and lots of jewelry.

Held myself back from getting a dozen pairs of Target sandals and instead finished off the bullseye shopping spree with this $12 straw hat. Perfect summer accessory. It's a bit small on my enormous noggin but I am gonna try to work it.
Next, I headed to the very fancy Fantastic Sam's in Beverly Hills. Needed my bangs trimmed. Had the hat ready in case something went horribly wrong but emerged relatively unscathed. She cut them a wee bit shorter than I asked (this picture is deceiving) but I figure they'll grow.
Considering getting some color done before Mexico. Equally torn between keeping it dark and getting a few low lights. LOVE this look.
Or going for the gold: bold blond highlights. My summer usual. Decisions, decisions.
Had dinner with this little pretty in pink. Today we made her 6 month MRI appointment. Starting to get anxious.
Didn't help renting and attempting to understand Charlie Kaufman's "Synecdoche, New York." All I got out of it is that we are all hurtling toward certain death. Duh. Oh and that others' actions/inaction can really suck. Duh squared.

The Commentary
This dress is a guaranteed homerun every time - exactly what I wanted today to run around. Have worn this dress exactly three times since I bought it last summer (here, here and here) and have received more compliments on it than on any other single article of clothing I own. I love it sooooo much I am considering having some dresses made in the exact same shape just in different prints.
With Nicole Richie hippy dippy.

I am so in love with Drew these days.
Your dress is fabulous!
your suit and hat were really cute... amazing that they are from target! must go now... and drew is killing it these days! her stylist lee is the nicest guy ever. xo
i'm obsessed with that dress.
Love the dress, and love the idea (and the actuality) of getting things you like made in many different colors. That's when you know you're OLD! When you have a favorite that you just want in every color.
Did you know Armani always wears a navy cashmere t-shirt with navy pants as his work uniform? I love it.
I gotta agree with Sable Crow - love the idea of getting that dress made in other prints. This is precisely why I buy more than one of things I love. Otherwise, I wind up kicking myself later about it.
The dress is FANTASTIC!! Have fun this weekend
