The Commentary

Still reeling from how great I felt stepping out of my comfort zone in yesterday's look!

So decided to try a very different look today with the same top for work.

Loving the freshness of camel with red

So added the ruffly necked cardigan

Followed by the brownie leggings.

The red MJ purse

And the BCBG boots. Voila. Managed to create a perfectly average blah outfit. Boo.

Originally grabbed chocolate Theory slacks and red high heeled Narcisco Rodriguez sandals. But I think visions of Silk Spectre dancing in my head made me go for the leggings/boots dynamic duo.

Bad call since the top is a bit clingy and the leggings are alot clingy. And I have been anything but disciplined about diet/exercise for the last 3 months. The result? Me looking like I am 3 months preggers in anything vaguely form fitting. Not very superhero at all. Ugh.

On the other hand, these Rodarte boot/leggings have Wonder Woman written all over them. Stunning update on the Pretty Woman thigh high.

Ironically they were inspired by a not so pretty character: Frankenstein. That's what Rodarte's designer revealed at last month's lecture.

Alas, the closest this mere mortal will get to a Rodarte superheroine are these SICK leather leggings. Vena Cava. The price....

A cool $909. Wah!

They make these TDF Loeffler Randall perforated boots look like a steal at $725. And if these boots are a bargain then Olivia Palermo is a Mensa candidate.

Nice ruffles! I like that. Makes camel much livelier.

I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now and just have to say I love your blog and outfits. I really like how you share your inspiration from high-end designers/trends and mix high with low for your own outfits. Also, I just have to say I ♥ that Olivia bombed like it. It was so bad I was almost embarrassed for her!

In stitches about multipletude and your unsuccessful rant about looking 3 months preggers. You look super fizzine.

We got a resume recently wherein the candidate had listed his Mensa membership.

We laughed and laughed and laughed.

Then tossed.

How do you get these ratings? Are they by you or the voters? Just curious.

I love this look--very bright and cheery. I definitely do not wear a lot of red or beige. (Maybe it's because I'm Asian...I dunno, red screams "Chinese" and I'm not. Beige washes me out.) I think a combo is the way to go.

Oh, and what's this about your size?! You are GORGEOUS!

Hahaha! That scene was priceless... when they showed the look on everyone's faces!

I love the ruffly details on the coat.
