The Scene
Left the office a little after 9 p.m. today. Big launch tomorrow. In just two weeks I've taken a project from concept to reality. Everyone at the office is blown away.
Feel proud of all that I've accomplished but wish it was something that actually mattered to me. Ugh. I would be 10x more successful professionally if I was working for myself.
Thank gawd for Mr. Diabolina. Even though he's been working just as hard (preparing for a trial) he guesses what I want for dinner and has it ready when I get home. It boggles my mind that we were so lucky to find each other. At 18 no less.

The Commentary
Behold the much debated, recently purchased booties. Originally $100. Down to $60 at Macy's and purchased for $40 with a double rewards coupon. This recessionista done good.
Remember when my mom was encouraging me to drop $245 on this similar pair at Revolve a few months ago. No gracias.
Of course, they are not as fabulous as all these designer booties that I was lusting for back in August. And I'm not delusional - Sam Edleman is no Yves Saint Laurent.
They may not be Chloe chic.
Or Gucci gorgeous.
But they do manage to be on trend yet classic - a very me combination. The texture and color make them look more luxe than they actually are. And they are comfortable - on my feet and on my wallet. Plus the little sexy dip in the front makes the cut more flattering for the leg when worn with a puffy skirt.
So very Charlize.
Was in a Chanel state of mind this morning so dug out this little vintage jacket I got for $25 at an estate sale years ago.
It's too small to button but I loved it on sight.
Feels kinda like a bolero.
Wore a little lacy bra today. Loved how it peeked out of the tank top. Nobody could see it with the jacket on. But I knew it was there. My little sexy secret.
Wish Katie had kept this outfit to herself. She designed it herself. Looks like it. The drape at the chest is AWFUL. And I am all for the Hammer pants but the cut of these is too voluminous. And in white satin??? Ugh. Wonder if her clothing line will be successful just because of her name. I don't know that many women would flock to purchase this get up.
Much prefer her denim looks of late.
Adore how these J Brands highlight the booties. SO HOT.
And even a dowdy, farting around outfit looks hot with the right booties.
Who would have thought those Dawson's Creek girls would end up being such style arbiters?
Wonder if the Gossip Girls will have such staying power.
I am betting my money on Leighton. I think she could marry Brad Pitt when Angelina is done with him. Star on Broadway. Have a mini me. Watch and see.
p.s. Seriously, you NEED to add Jak and Jil to your blog roll.
It's like porn for fashionistas.

That vintage jacket was a great find!
I cannot believe you got those booties for $40. They are $135 everywhere else, including Macys.com. Great job recessionista!
I love the whole look, especially your shoes!
I am snickering at the thought of Leighton Meester becoming Mrs. Pitt.
Love the jacket and the booties
Great find! Love the edgy booties w/ the classic jacket.
OMG - Jak and Jill is my new shoe site obsession! And you look great, the skirt is fab.
