The Commentary

Realized this morning I had a little more champagne at Armani last night than I thought I did. Ugh.

No desire to be creative this morning. Threw the outfit together using the $12 Marc skirt as an anchor. Remember how I wore the same print for an engagement party earlier this year? Did the same type of metallic accessories today.

The most interesting thing about the outfit was this F21 necklace that I dug out. $10ish. Bought it over a year ago. So on trend.

Love the tough/delicate balance of it. Reminds me of something Fashion Toast might wear. Maybe to meet her idol and jewelry designer Erin Wasson during Fashion Week, perhaps ;)

Since today is a slow Diabolina fashion day, it's the perfect time to do my Fashion Week review.

Overall, I thought the collections were pretty blah. A little too minimalist for my taste. Think the fashion off the runway was the most inspirational part of the whole week. Take a gander at some of my fave inspirations:

But my favorite show was probably Donna Karan. Surprising, I know.

Loved the fluid, goddess like shapes and gorgeous neutral palette.

Very flattering. She knows a woman's body like few designers do.

Adore this jacket/evening dress combo. Love love love.

My second favorite collection was BCBG Max Azaria. I know surprised me TOO!!!!!

It was actually a bit similar to Donna Karan. Fluid, feminine shapes and lots of asymmetry.

Expect BCBG did more bold pops of color and you know I am a sucker for a blue dress.

And glad to see adorable rompers are still in next spring. Still loving them.

Similarly languid was Derek Lam. Love this sparkly dream of a dress.

He did quite a few ruffles. Think that's one trend that's here to stay. Yay!

Phillip Lim seems to agree. Just look at these Prada-esque beauties.

He collaborated with Christian Louboutin. YUM!

Love this head to toe ruffle look. Not very wearable for the average woman but exquisite on the runway.

Phillip Lim also showed lots of belts. Have been looking for one that can do all this looping.

Jenni Kayne also focused on looped belts. Am dying for a shirt dress that looks like a man's shirt. Would love it in a light blue with a pinstripe. Or in white.

Marc by Marc Jacobs was a big disappointment. F. Didn't love a single thing. Though I did think all these belts piled on were hilarious.

The Marc Jacobs show was a bit better. Loved the proportions of the looks.

And the obi-like cinching at the waist. But not crazy about the mix of patterns. Felt too haphazard.

Marchessa showed some lovely Oscar-worthy gowns per usual.

Like belts, I think lace is going to stay on trend well into next year. Stock up now.

Thinking about buying it in an unexpectedly fresh color. Like this minty green at Tracey Reese.

Loved the punk chic of Rodarte again this season.

Love that they are still digging ombre - the trend that will not die.

Hope the sisters behind Rodarte start making some more separates.

Would hate to find out that they are one-note.

My third favorite collection was Diane Von Furstenberg. Here's her beautiful signature pink and orange mix. With yet another looping belt.

Loving the mixing of patterns.

And this ultimate polka dot top.

The headpieces are amazing too. Something I could see Serena wearing on GG or Kate Moss donning at some music festival.

what? this outfit is better than a Pass. You look cute! I like elbow length jackets. I need more.

Could Leighton Meester be any more gorgeous? Her outfit and makeup is perfection.
