The Scene
I actually HOPE all day that someone pulls an April Fool's on me. Something to break the monotony. Something creative. Something funny.

No such luck. Sigh.

Thank god Styleminded invites me out tonight.

To Area. Where The Hills kids party all the time. Awwwwwwww yea!

It used to be called The Gate in my day. A million moons ago. Now it's a whole reality world scene. We even see some random MTV The Real World/Gauntlet-ers: Johanna and Zack and some blond.

I swear I live the life of a D list celebrity ;)

We hang out for a couple of hours. Have a couple of drinks. Meet up with some friends of Stylminded from B-town.

The boys are recruiters who just started their own company. Sweet boys. Young boys.

I wear my newest, artsy-iest DVF. And Micheal Kors stilettos that Ive never worn because they are deadly. I almost fall three times.

Most of the hot young things are in much grungier looks than me. Lots of leggings and plaids!!! And they are all about my height but look like they weigh less than 100 lbs. Scary the standard young girls now are emulating.

All night, I feel like carding the peeps that talk to us. Seriously they are all barely legal. Keep wanting to call their parents.

End up having a really good time tho. Being 30 is great. I was so self conscious when I'd hit the clubs in my early 20s. Now it's just about connecting with people. Being real. Making people feel known.

Me likes some of the benefits of old age :)

The Commentary
Walked out the door this am very concerned. Wasn't sure if everything worked together. But god did it ever. The colors all were spot on and complimentary right down to the bangles and the earrings. The devil is truly in the details.

This Marc top is a dream. I bought it resale at Crossroads. Under $40. It's easily a couple of sizes too big but whatevs. It feels like I'm wearing a carnivale between the pattern and the disparate colors and the streaming straps of fun. So playful. So fun.

Very important when you are just a girl with bangs trying to get through the day.

The DVF has a special place in my heart forever.

You are such a Marc whore! This is said with much love, of course. I was thisclose to taking a picture of your washer-dryer on Saturday. I should've done it!

Oh how I wish I could wear an ankle strap! Alas, I was blessed with cankles from hell. Super cute stilletos. Fabulous dress.

The bangs, are they growing on you yet? I'm having mixed feelings about mine. Too short? Too blunt? Too Pulp Fiction? Blah...

Love the DVF dress. You look smokin. I'm thinking about rocking your bangs if you don't mind.
