The Scene
Work. Louis Vuitton. Gym. Just a typical day in the life of a fashionista ;)

Actually today's LV run has been 8 MONTHS in the making. My Super Dirty 30 was back in July [Photos courtesy of my talented The Riz.]

And my high school amiga "Juana Piece of This" outdid herself with my birfday gift: a store credit at Louis Vuitton.

Swoon. It was unexpected to say the least.

You see, Juana is not into the designer labels or fashion. At all. She is the quintessential sporty spice. For her 30th, I gave her a shopping spree at Sports Chalet.

J was the girl in high school that everyone wanted to be friends with - she was just so funny, smart, athletic and she didn't seem to care what anyone thought. Quite the attractive quality in a teenage girl.

She's truly like family to me at this point. Most days, she is what gets me through 9 to 5. We trade "cubicle living" horror stories via email.

She's an engineer at a major aerospace company so she usually wins the most horrifying coworker competition - one title you really could do without.

Bottom line is that she is soooo dear to me that I wanted to get just the right thing with her generous gift. Wanted to get something that would remind me of our friendship every time I wore it.

AND, maybe you haven't noticed but when I make purchases of over say $200 I tend to think it over for weeks. Maybe even months.

This KILLS my mom because I usually make her visit the desired thing with me over and over and over. But I've found that it's important to be sure that something haunts my dreams when I am going to pay a pretty penny for it.

I have stalked these earrings for nearly a year now. LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea of wearing mismatched Vuitton earrings.

I distinctly remember trying to rock mismatched earrings when I was 10 and channel Madonna in her "Like a Virgin" mode. But my mom was not digging it. She only allowed the lace fingerless gloves.

First I saw the earrings in pastels. Thought they were sweet but too muted. Not very me.

Then I saw the white ones. Cute but boring. No sass. No flava. Wah.

A few weeks ago tho I saw the new "Violine" colors online and fell hard. They were bolder, stronger, sexier, more me. I visited them in person yesterday and left them on hold for one more day of deliberating.

Today they came home with me. Simply adore new trinkets of deceit. Thanking you Juana!! Now find your password already and start commenting...

The Commentary
Felt girly this morning. And spring-y. But also wanted to be comfortable. So decided to go there with this uber feminine Forever 21 top and flowing pants and wrap sweater. Clean. Easy. Simple.

The print is very Marc's signature poppy print.
Forever 21 is so good to me.

Love the deep neckline. And how my shoulders always feel like Vulcan earrings in this top. Their alertness makes me want to laugh :)

The pants were a resale find. $200 Theory pants for like $10. Shocking that they were in such good condition for white pants. Should have ironed them this morning but UGH no desire to in my spring forward haze.

Can you believe these sandals are Target? I always fool people with these. Look much pricier than they are. Especially when paired with a designer bag and pricey jewelery.

Giggled inside when I traipsed into LV today with my LV tote and wallet wearing $10 shoes. Great reminder that you can mix and match, pick and choose where you want to invest your hard earned cash.

You don't have to do designer head to toe, you don't have to do cheap head to toe. The real fun and art of dressing well comes with one's ability to pull things together unexpectedly and creatively.

p.s. Today after months of cajoling her to give leggings a whirl, The Peeper went there. She rocked leggings with booties no less and gold hoops. Yum. She looked chicly hot but still work appropriate. I was as proud as if I'd birthed her myself.

Mr. Honorary Hot Chick unveiled one of the multiple pairs of shoes he purchased this weekend. Have I established I heart this man???

p.p.s. Color me surprised when I logged onto eluxury today to peep my LV earrings and found this Prince-a-licious scene.

My mom and I were clearly in tune with the zeitgeist yesterday...And on my prom day...and my 21st birthday (both photos above!)
