The Scene
We head out in the late morning to meet a friend of Texas Cowboy's on Lake Travis.

Jean Bean and I clearly have a psychic fashion link. We are both rocking orange and big designer sunnies and scarves. We didn’t plan this, I swear.

Mr. Diabolina has a boat so he's in hog heaven. Plus the promise of partying hot co-eds on the lake also sounds right up his alley ;)

We enjoy a bit of fun in the sun and even drop by a party on the shore of the lake where a local celeb is performing.

There's a pig being cooked in a way I have NEVER seen. Kinda not appetizing.

And the cherry on top is that there's a woman painting the pig's toenails hot pink. I've truly seen it all now.

Have a sunset dinner at a lakeside cantina that makes me feel like I'm in Cancun . There are tons of funny signs plastered all over. Here's my fave one...it's my fashion motto after all.

At one point, the mister and I realize we have friends in common with TC's friends.

Another funny coincidink is that TC's mom has worked with JB's cousin for 7 years. What a small, small world.

After a nap, we meet up in the hotel bar again for cocktails before a tour of 6th street . It's crawling with college kids in heinous outfits.

I feel like we're with local celebrities because between Jean Bean's high profile job and Texas Cowboy's work in the restaurant/bar scene, we're constantly running into people. p.s. look at how cute JB's side ponytail looked!

The star of the night ends up being Jean Bean's former coworker. Let's call him Manimal. He is a brilliant, hilarious guy who just happens to be like 8 feet tall. He is on a roll all night, making us all pee in our pants.

I wish all the people we love lived in the same city. Sigh. Someday, someday...

Another A+ of a day.

The Commentary
Swimsuit season is upon us. Blech! I knew that boating was a distinct possibility on this trip and wanted to buy a simple black one piece. Didn't get around to it. Ugh so had to keep my Buddha belly covered the whole time I had my swimsuit on.

I wear a bikini on vacation and about 5 times a year in L.A. so I find no need to invest tons of cash. For the last few years, I've been getting my suits at Old Navy. Liked the idea of buying this one mismatched. Very Jessica Alba. Alas it did not come with her abs.

Eventually chucked the jeans and just wore the tunic as a dress. I think I was being a bit of a modest mary because Jean is so fit (she was getting certified to teach yoga in Austin ) and I hate splaying my chunk around her.

Loved bringing a couple of hats to change up the vibe of the outfit. They were easy to pack and make a big difference when you are out in the sun.

LATE NIGHT DRESSING

We were wrecked after a whole day in the sun but rallied after a nap. Kept the outfit simple but springy.

Bought the top for $22 in Santee Alley a few weeks ago. Love this color when I have a bit of a tan. Uber flattering. The multi-colored buttons are such delight. Like little cupcakes in my décolletage. Delicious. The cut is a bit dangerous ie if I move just so it feels like my boobs might peek out to say hello. But once I realized this I kept mya movements small. I think it does a nice job of being sweetly sexy.

I wore these heels to death when I first bought them 5 years ago. Metallic accessories are so important. They can be timeless.

At one point I wore them to a friend's bachelorette party and a cabbie ran over the heel as I went to get out of the cab. Can you say traumatic??? Oh, I wasn't so focused on the fact that the cabbie could have broken my foot. I was more upset that it was my first broken heel ever.

How did you find a picture of me lying on a grill? I'm so embarrassed!

Being the good southern girl that I am, I've attended quite a few pig pickins. But never one displayed quite so, openly. And NEVER one with pink toenails.

In other news, were the shoes on your feet when they got run over?!

Sweet! Lovin' the mention from the great Diabolina. Feel like I've entered rarified company, and I dig it.

Only one problem: You graded your fashion for the weekend too low. You and JB were looking A, and those Miller Lite head bands might be worth the plus.

Great time all around. Austin wants y'all back, and right soon.

I still say one of the girls in the ass shot is trying to pass off her lacy panties as a bikini bottom!

I loves your button top. I think it's Trovata inspired.
