My Sneak Preview of Marc by Marc Jacobs Resort 2012

The last three weeks have been a whirlwind.
But the best fashion story involved two of my favorite M's: Marc and my mama.

During my two weeks in NYC, I reached out to the pretty kitty I know who works at Marc Jacobs and gave me that fantastical tour of the MJ offices last October.

I asked her (read: shamelsessly begged) for another tour. This time for my momma who may be tiny but is an even bigger MJ fan than me.  

My friend said the Soho offices were being remodeled...BUT she'd love to walk us through the temporary Milk Studios space they had for resort. Best.friend.of.a.friend.EVER!

So bright and early one morning, this lucky ducky and her MJ loving mama got to paw through all the latest lovely looks from Mr. CFDA Lifetime Achievement Award himself. This season's storyline: the Marc girl goes to Miami. That means punchy colors, tropical prints and a little more glitz than usual.

Particularly wearable: all the LBDs with a twist

My mom couldn't keep her paws off the great outwear.

But her favorites of the day? The sensible, sassy shoes. My mom practically lives in MJ shoes. Actually, we were both wearing MJ shoes that day to huff around NYC.

As a card-carrying techie, I was giddy to see how much the tech gear line has expanded in just a couple of seasons. So many options to get my geek gadgetery on. LOVE!

But truth be told, the more tradtional totes were my favorites of the day. The prints and the color blocking and the teeny tiny key chains. I NEED EM ALL!

As you can tell by my well chosen outfit, I love me some polka dots 

Learned it from my mama

Proud as a peacock that her vintage Marc top fit right in with the newest looks in the showroom.

The only thing missing in both our MJ wardrobes? The perfect polka dotted purse.

Too bad for her Mother's Day just passed...and my birthday is the next major holiday ;)
