I obsess about doing a good job at work. Being the best daughter and friend. Being the most interesting blogger, party guest and well, woman in the world ;)
I obsess about not being accomplished enough. Or fit enough. Or funny enough.
I obsess about the hurtful things people say or the magical things they do.
I obsess about the nature of my soul and making weekend plans.
I obsess about the lines on my forehead, the next meal I'm going to eat, how moving a person's story can be.
But most of all I obsess about fashion. The flirty cut of a dress. The architectural curve of a heel. The quirky shape of a purse. The ingeniuous design of a piece of jewelry.
Images run through my head constantly, obsessively. It's like a sickness. I'm like a fashion Rainman - pretty sure I have a kind of photographic memory when it comes to looks that speak to me.
On an endless loop in my head the last few months: Miu Miu's Spring 2010 Swallow print. Ugh. So romantic and Hitchcockian - pretty with a threatening edge.
Like it so much that if I could put a ring on those damn birds, I would.
So last weekend when I saw this drapey, breezy navy blue tank at Forever 21, I snatched it right up. Doesn't matter that the birds are more American Eagle eagles than Miu Miu swallows. Sometimes just the reference is all I need. It satiates my pallette and quells the obsessing. Especially when the cost is under $20. Couldn't get one Miu Miu swallow for that much less a whole flock ;)
Do I still want a pair of Miu Miu Swallow Mary Janes? DUH. Sure. What fashion nut wouldn't?
But for now my vagina sandals will have to do.

I have been similarly obsessed. I know that Zara has a good copy as well. I even tried to shove my size 11 foot into a size 9 pair of the platforms. Ouch. Your alternative seems much more sensible.

I love any kind of animal (or reptiles and occasionally a bug) print, so this new Miu Miu collection is right up my alley.

I first feel in love w/ the birds from Marc's petal to the metal handbags. Some ppl have an aversion to sky rats. I like them as long as they don't poop.
