Why I Heart L.A.
Malibu in the Winter

While most of the country is bundled up and struggling the first week of every year, Angelenos are typically enjoying clear skies and temperatures above 60. This year it's been more like above 70. May sound surreal to some but it's the only reality I've ever known. Thank god.

On the second day of my 32nd new year in Lalaland, Mr. Diabolina and I went for a "butt blaster" of a hike in Runyon Canyon and rewarded ourselves with an al fresco dinner in Malibu. Absolutely stunning day to spend so much time outside.

Shared a few tasty appetizers and rounds of bloody mary's at Duke's.

And our favorite Malibu pretty joined us just in time for a Malibu pretty sunset.

Sure you have to deal with alot of superficial bullshit and mind-numbing traffic in L.A. But I think it's a small price to pay for being able to eat ice cream cake...outside...by the beach...in January. Suck it haters. Viva L.A.

And I'll be there in 2 weeks!! But I should tell you I'm leaving 80 degree heat where I walk on the beach in my shorts eating an ice cream cone and getting tan while I do it all.

OMG HULA PIE!!! We had this is Hawaii, most amazing dessert in my (our) life... I think we need to schedule our next vaca to Malibu just so we can plan around that ice cream cake :)

oh, and seriously, I'm not kidding I even have pics on my blog of my husband devouring it!

Yet another reason I'm happy to have married a native Los Angeleno. I don't see us moving any time soon. :)
