Da Fashionista Faceoff
Diabolina v. JLo
attempting and failing at getting our Gaga on

So by now you've probably seen what JLo wore on New Year's.

And thrown up in your mouth a little bit.

And yet, I cannot tell a lie: in a misguided attempt to be hep, I too went pantless and see through a few weeks ago. Mercifully my outfit didn't bunch in all the wrong places or expose a freaky Barbie smooth crotch. But it definitely was not pretty. JLo may be the 40 year old mother of twins but I've got the figure of one. Sigh.

Though I think you will forgive me when you consider I hadn't been out of the house in a week (caring for my little momma) when Mr. Diabolina surprised me with an early Christmas present. One that had us both Gaga. LIT-e-rally :)

Still not quite sure how that beautiful lawyer of a man got tickets. The shows sold out in minutes months ago. But am sooo grateful he did. The Monster Ball was definitely one of the best concerts I've ever been to in my life.

Definitely the best concert tees I've ever seen.

The concert was quintessential Gaga. Fierce, fashionable, forward. The staging was like nothing I've ever experienced before with performance art video loops, incredible lighting and HOT dancers. The music sounded amazing live and was just unabashedly F-U-N. It was the only concert that's ever felt like a dance party from start to finish. A gay gay gay dance party ;)

But the costumes - sweet baby Jesus about to be born and wrapped in swaddling clothes! - the dozen or so costume changes were the most magical part of all!!! In a couple of hours, Lady Gaga morphed from glowworm to alien to Madonna circa Vogue to piano playing crow to leather mommy to S&M Pippi Longstocking to walking disco ball. Brilliant and inspiring and quite the entertaining visual spectacle. Like I said, quintessential Gaga.

But my favorite part of the evening was the sincere gratitude Lady Gaga kept expressing to her fans, her little monsters. She waxed poetic about fame quite a bit and also told us all we need is each other, art and love. And that she plans to devote the rest of her life to making sure that's true.

She also reminded us that just a year ago she was at Staples opening for Natasha Bedenfield who was opening for New Kids on the Freaking Block. WHA????? I thought back to the night of that NKOTB concert and did remember informing The Peeper that Lady Gaga was that annoying pantless blonde with the bow hair.

Never dreamed I would later write a full on manifesto declaring my love for her whole schtick. Resolution for 2010: Never say never. Except maybe when promising to never go pantless again.

I am so jealous over your night with Lady Gaga right now that I want to say something mean about your pantlessness, but I can't do that to you. Listen, a girl has got to take fashion risks and you pulled it off.

You're right! She performed at the NKOTB concert. I totally forgot about that. She annoyed the shit out of me then, but Good Lord has that woman taken over the universe. Love it!

Love your outfit mama! And those tights mmmm.

I was not a Gaga fan either, but I have come to admire her. She brought artistry back into the music industry. So jealous that you got to go watch her! The pictures alone look AMAZING.

Oh my God! I'm going to a concert in a couple of weeks and I can't wait. Also I am so tempted to get that nude top with the nipple Xs. Tell me not to do it before something bad happens!

I am so glad you did this post! I too have recently given in to the GaGa. She is just so.... fabulous! Her SNL performance is what finally sold me on her incredible talent. I'm trying really hard not to be jealous of you... trying... trying... Nope. Not working. I hate you right now ;)

The show was ah-mazing! I loved every second of it. It's refreshing to see a celeb who seems to genuinely love her fans.
