The Scene

Mommy Sunday.

Spent the morning catching up like two old ladies about our ailments and adventures over the last week we were apart.

Then we did what we did best.

First at BCBG

You must run over there - great selection of evening wear

And beachwear right now.

Snapped up this little Chanel-esque top for my mom.

On sale and just look at how it accentuates her lil waist.

Next we visited with Tory Burch. 60 percent off sale.

Alas none of the tunics I loved were marked down.

My mom fell in love with shoes practically identical to ones she already owns

Like mother, like daughter

Stopped by Forever 21 to return something for Yvette. And fell in love with a dress.

Copy of a Blue Halo dress that costs five times the Forever price.

Sadly, I felt too self conscious about the fit through my middle and figured I have several gray dresses already. Might get it if it comes out in a different color,

In the evening, like the masochist vaginas we are, my mother and I watched My Sister's Keeper. Cried from start to finish. Identified with Cameron Diaz more than I thought I would in this movie.

Maybe because I know she doesn't have kids IRL. But there she was playing the fierce mama bear. Made me connect to the movie more than I would've otherwise. Interesting how casting against type can actually draw in a whole other audience.

The Outfit

Fashion District dress

The Accessories

Louis Vuitton earrings

Chanel bag

Prada heels

The Grade

B+

The Commentary

This dress had me at hello.

Reminded me of some of my favorite Nannette Lepore dresses. Except just $35 instead of $350.

Love the feminine detailing at the neckline

And at the hemline

It's a whole lotta of girly.

Very Marchesa

Or Notte by Marchesa

Like every other vagine who knows fashion, I am besotted with Marchesa.

And its co-founder Georgina Chapman.

Her wardrobe is all about the details - at the neckline and the waist

Or the shoulders and the back

She is both a peacock

And a swan

She gets to have tea and cupcackes with J Lo for pete's sake.

There's just the unfortunate choice in spouse

I'm told no dreamy wardrobe could make up for that.

"Like the masochist vaginas we are" OMG. My sides hurt from laughing at this lovely turn of phrase. My goal of the week is to use it in conversation at least once a day. A+ for the super cute dress!
