The Scene
Tonight at Next Door, over carpaccio and cocktails, I got career counseling from the one, the only, the adorable MissJordyPants. I can't believe it's been nearly a year since our first (five hour!) blogger date.

So much has changed for her. She bought a house, quit her soul-sucking job and started her own successful business, Hazelnut Photography. She truly is my tiny, twentysomething, yellow-loving, alcohol-swilling hero.

Tonight she sparkled as she shared with me the rewards of risking everything and gaining more than she could've imagined.

And I shared with her the big changes Mr. Diabolina and I have been mulling over - changes that will define the second half of our journey together.

Gawd, what didn't we cover tonight. We discussed babies and husbands and clients and bloggers. Like the last time we met up, tonight we gabbed so much that we lost track of time. Parted ways well past midnight.

Infinitely grateful to have the support and counsel of sparkly, talented angels like MissJordyPants at this crossroads. In moments of darkness, they are lighting the way for me.

The Commentary
Mondays= utterly, totally uninspired. Add wobbly and curly to the mix and you have quite the horrific confluence working against your fashion mojo. Perdonenme, dear readers.

Tried to get it together though after all MissJordyPants is a B.F.D. Plucked out my little grey dress with visions of my favorite Gossip Girl dancing through my head.

I know, I know. The detailing of my dress isn't quite as spectacular but just roll with my delusions on Mondays ok?

Instead of YSL steel cages, my feet sported snakeskin and wood courtesy of The Rack.

These are the little Italian beauties I picked up in The OC for just $29 on Saturday. Best purchase I've made in a while.

Donned the leggings for comforbut mostly to disguise the bloat that comes from two weeks of not working out and grubbing like a linebacker.

Added the white and silver necklace in an attempt to pull together the outfit - breathe some sass into it, save it from mediocrity.

Not sure it worked. Not sure it mattered. Tonight was about bigger things than just a necklace.

THanks for the sweet words and for all of the effort you put into your blog. It's amazing how you find all of those pics. (I'm too lazy so I rely on your blog to get them!) And I hear you about the life decisions. I think we're close in age so I can relate. Sending you love!
