The Scene
Mr Diabolina plans a lovely dinner/movie date night. Sushi followed by The Reader - one of the last movies on our Oscar list. Really touching film. Haunted by the idea that some of the people who affect us most in life are complete strangers.

Plus I could watch Ralph Fiennes read the phone book and be riveted. And Kate Winslet, well, she redeemed herself after those b-a-n-a-n-a acceptance speeches at the Globes. Sigh. I should have been an actress - it's like a license to crazy all over town.

Happy weekend!

The Commentary
Needed to feel fab today...just to get through the day. Decided on this $30 two tone dress because it always makes me feel tres Chanel.

Paired it with Chanel inspired accessories.

Wish I had these two tone Chanel accessories too. ADORE!

But loved my Edelman booties with the dress. Something about the curve of the bodice with the curve of the front of the bootie was perfection.

Have my eye on this sandal for summer. Would look purrfect with this dress, no?

But the real star of the show today was my new blingy kitty.

A dreamy copy of one of the Panthere de Cartier rings.

Got it downtown last weekend after stalking it for a month.

Ugh. I've become such a recessionista that I had to think and rethink a $12 purchase. F.

Especially when the real thing would set a girl back at least $40k.

Those Madonna LV ads, which I loved, were shot over at the Cafe Figaro on Vermont in Los Feliz. You might have known that already, but if you didn't I thought I'd share.

Their food is delicious. I was there a couple weeks ago and had the filet mignon topped with foie gras. Delicious! I know you're a foodie too, so I wanted to recommend it.

LOVE the cat ring! Pooping at Fashion Intel: I covet Marc Jacob's arms and shoulders. Yum.

He was HERE. In LA. F.

One last thing, Recessionista: GET THOSE CHANEL BOOTS. Be poor for them. Worship them on an altar of dried roses, mournful looking saints, and sacred chalices of Chanel No 5.

They are rapturous as in: they are indicative of the coming Rapture.

I love the phrase "recessionista." You need to get a copyright on that. Anyway, I think you looked absolutely adorable in your outfit. No wonder Mr. Diabolina took you out on a night on the town: He wanted to show you off! ;)

Love the ring. And girl I know what you mean about questioning even small purchases. I'm shopping in the dollar bins these days. And then baulking at the $2 price. Crazy

Love your two-toned look!

Reminds me of the black/white look that Kyra Sedgewick wore to the Screen Actors Guild last night.

Thanks for adding me to your blog roll!
