The Scene
Back in the office. Thankfully, I have a dinner to look forward to all day.

Meet Sable Crow's daddy. Adore this adorable man. He's held a very special spot in my heart ever since he watched the premiere of Buffy the Vampire Slayer with us when we were 19. Love cool parents.

He's a real character- hilarious, bawdy, a straight shooter - much like someone we all know and love. Wish the entire Sable Crow family lived closer.

To celebrate his dad's visit and b-day, Sable Crow took us all out to a "boisterous, All American" BBQ dinner at The Grove.

We talked about the economy and boats and the good (retired) life and Dancing with the Stars. All while doing some intense chowing. Ugh. I have to stop eating like a truck driver.

Wonderful night. And to think it never would have happened if USC hadn't paired these two boys up as roommates freshman year. Love.

The Commentary
Today's outfit was brought to you by the color gray. Built it around the new San Fran purchase. How cool is a SLEEVELESS wrap sweater??? Perfect for obscuring muffin top bits from all the hog-like eating and no exercise of late. Got it in gray and black. Best part? Just $13.80 each. Get. one. now!

Found a similar look on Mr. Thicke's wife. Makes me think the new vest has potential for evening fabulousness in addition to work appropriateness...

My name is Diabolina and I am seriously this spike bracelet. Works perfectly with the watch and all silvery ensemb. Plus Scotty 2 Hotty said it was perfect bum deterrent up in San Fran. HA! Seriously I got accosted by more bums in 3 days up there than I have in the last 13 years in So Cal. F.

My $6 bracelet looks a bit like this recent hot look on Kate Lanphear, the senior style editor at US Elle. Adore the pilled up rough and tough jewelry.

Kate's been getting photographed non-stop at all the shows. No wonder. So.fucking. chic.

Here is some more inspiring gorgeousness in gray

Impeccable Dior tailoring.

Love the gray with a pop of color.

Delish languid layering, perfect for fall.

Need these boots and leggings. Stat.

Yummy buttons and curve hugging gray

Casual sparkle.

My new favorite "high water" look in gray

LOVE scarves in gray. Always very Euro chic.

This woman in her Chloe glasses and dusty rose coat is my idea of perfection personified.

And no post would be complete without Katie. Here she is glamming gray up nicely

And dressing it down equally well. How hot are those shoes????

And just look at these delish Stella dresses!! Perfect match for my Stella pumps, no?

Too bad my store credit would only cover 1/10 of the price. {weeping}

I need more gray in my life.

The thought of Mr. D and Sable Crow as freshman roomies makes me smile.

Love my dad here! He was so happy. Beers and ribs with his son. VERY rare. I'm more a steak and wine kinda guy... He loves you and Mr. D so much.

Love the pic of Mr. D and me. Love the trick of putting my head back so his looks GI-NORMOUS and I look like a pinhead. :) For once I don't have the biggest noggin in the gang.

i think there was something about a latin class in there, too, but maybe i'm being egotistical.

perhaps you can do a post about black lines to honor those freshman roomies!
