The Scene
Took a personal day today. More on that to come...

Ended a delightful day off with a delovely dinner party at Sable Crow's. A few friends came over to meet Dr. McDreamiest for the first time.

All I can say is he lived up to his moniker. What. A. Dream.

One young beauty stole the (fashion) show at Sable Crow's (maxi) pad. But I wasn't mad at her. Don't think I could ever rock her hot lil leopard number with tights. My eyes aren't piercingly-blue enough.

Very delightful casual night in with friends of friends. Felt easy. Comfortable. Right.

Hopefully there will be more options to molest the good doctor....

(p.s. He seems a bit weirded out by me. Do you think it's because I stalk him?)

The Outfit
Yellow dress with flower cutouts

The Accessories
Faux Van Cleef and Arpels turquoise necklace
Blue and gold bangles
Louis Vuitton earrings
Sequin sandals

The Grade
B

The Commentary
Today I morphed from Barney to Big Bird ;)

Have been dying for a yellow bag or shoe for exactly two months. Have seen some vaguely interesting pieces but none that bowled me over enough to invest beaucoup bucks.

So when I saw this $40 dress in the fashion district on Saturday, I decided to forget about the accessories and snap it up. Think I paid a little too much but it was my first time out shopping in 3 weeks so I was a bit rusty with the mad negotiating skillzzzzz.

Oh vell.

Dreamy detailing at the sleeves and hem of this bright summery dress. Great Mexico vacation dress. Great Santa Monica afternoon shopping dress.

And the vibrant yellow will be alot better on me when I get a bit of sun. Cannot wait for Puerto Vallarta.

Only down side: I am pretty sure I bought the dress too big. ONCE AGAIN. Ugh this is getting tiresome. When will the volume trend ever end? Probably just in time for me to be preggers.

The necklace worked well with the look as did the Marc Jacobs bag and the bangles and those PRECIOUS LV earrings.

Blues are quite nice with yellow. So are deep purples and fuchsia and sometimes the right red. Lots of opportunities with this dress. Stoked!

The sandals are ANCIENT and busted but I heart them. I got them in graduate school over 7 years ago. Scored them downtown in Santee Alley for about $15. Still alive and kicking tho.

Wouldn't expect anything less from colored sequins :)

Loving yellow on you. Feeling like yellow doesn't work on me but I bet I'm just not trying the right shades. Anyway, totally getting the buying too big thing. I got the cutest little dress at F21 and it's too big. thought it was fin in the store but it's not. I went back to find a smaller one and oops, it's gone. Boo.

I ADORE yellow. It's my new most favorite color and I want to wear it every single day.

As for the food, come.and.get.it. I'm going to get those damn cookies right if it kills me. Will be attempting round 3 and possibly 4 this weekend.

Hope the personal day was productive!
