I brought a disproportionate amount of shorts for our trip to the east coast. 5 pairs for a 7 day trip...on top of dresses galore. Dresses are my vacation go to. They pack so easy and I can change them up with scarves, necklaces, belts and shoes. Easy. Done.
But for this trip, since I've been in a fashion rut, I decided to challenge myself. I'm cray cray. Instead of just throwing on a dress to huff around in, I challenged myself to create casual and comfortable but still chic vacation looks with separates. No pressure. It's not like I'm feeling less than svelte and there was a major heat wave going on. Ugh.
Debuted these heart print shorts. Heart them. Chose them frankly because my hair was a hot mess and they matched the hat that I needed to wear. Found the shorts at F21 a few months ago and have been dying to wear them. Looooove that print. Clearly a Miu Miu resort 2011 rip-off. Wish I had it in a top, dress, pair of pants, scarf and heels. Added the simple drapey white tank, a big tote and flat sandals. Functional and fun for a long, hot, jam-packed day.
Would've been FEROSH to pair the Miu Miu inspired shorts with these real Miu Miu beauties
Good for standing relatively still peeping celebrities at an InStyle soiree.
Not so much for trying to be an in style tourist huffing around town.

LOVE seeing my city in your post! I'm so glad you got to experience some of Montreal's highlights....particularly the smoked meat :). It's hard to dress in our very hot and humid summers (you should see how my hair looks from May to August) but your outfit was perfect!

Thank you for posting photos of my home city! I will be there in two weeks myself and seeing the photos just makes me want to go even MORE now! Can't wait to hit Forever 21 and walk the streets, eat good food and buy some macarons. Thank you, and I love your outfit! :)
