The Scene
Worked from 6 am to 7 pm. All while wearing a name tag around my neck. Like a doggie. Ughs.

The only thing that kept me going was the prospect of booze and giggles with Flower.

He suggested the Mandarin Oriental for a tres fancy dinner. Looooooove a Mandarin Oriental. Opted for the chef's tasting menu. So often the best way to experience a restaurant.

Pumpkin pudding for both of us to start

Poached pear for him. Maine lobster for me.

Kobe beef para Flower. Pheasant for me.

Queso para mi and chocolate tower for him.

Wonderful meal. Wonderful company. Wonderful preview of Flower's wedding in June. Cannot wait to have more time in Boston with one of my all time faves.

The Commentary

Decided to keep things basic for today's conference. Started with a LBD. Added the belt and the scarf to keep things interesting.

Then came the long black blazer for a bit of professional but on-trend coverage

Next the tights for even more coverage

But polka dot tights aren't just any tights. They got quite the reaction from the staid sweater set crowd at the conference. Apparently tights are fine. But tights with dots equal French hooker. Got the funniest looks all day. I thought it was hilarious.

In retrospect, it probably had more to do with the bondage-y shoes than the tights. God I am loving these shooties.

It's a pretty magical shoe that makes you feel powerful, sexy, fearless and grounded all at once.
Especially for under $150 ;)

I understand the funny looks about patterned tights and panythose. Why do people think nothing of bear legs, but as soon as you put on nude fishnets, or black tights with vertical herringbone stripe, you look trashy? Hello, my legs are covered!

I love how you added some pizzazz to an otherwise simple outfit.
Most of those gawkers are probably just amazed at you daring to break outside of the boring box.
You are definitely making me consider some sexy polka dot tights.
