The Scene

Headed to the LBC for work today. Another all-day conference. No MC Hammer this time but I did get to spend the evening with this gorgeous family! Gawd, Chowmein's babies were ON FIRE tonight.

Bana wouldn't stop clinking her cup with mine and saying "cheers" mischievously. It's like she KNEW her mommy and I were enjoying adult cocktails in our sippy cups and she wanted in on our girls' happy hour!

Not one to be outdone, Mr. Chicken Nugget at one point started assigning sizes to everyone in his family. He told me his 6 foot tall daddy is a large and his 4' 11'' mom is a medium. He deemed himself a small medium. And what about Bana, I asked him. He glowered at his younger sister with a mixture of contempt and fear and said, "She's a small. But she THINKS she's a large." I almost died.

After dinner, we headed to Baskin Robbins for $1 scoops and a pet store for peeping.

Back to back hits of kid crack.

Love these evenings with my girlfriends who are mothers. Love the glimpses into their evening routines with their baby dolls.

The giggling and the trampolines and the games of Tic Tac Toe and the sea horses

The brainwashed toddlers who - unprompted - burst into the USC Fight Song in the backseat and at the dinner table and on the potty.

Tonight Chowmein and I talked about work and health and life. We also reminisced about summers in college and bachelorette parties post college. Truth be told, it's hard for me to remember what life was like B.M. - before munchkins. Or maybe I just don't want to remember who we were before they were.

The Commentary

Not feeling creative today. Turned to the neutral separates I've been loving lately.

This outfit I first whipped up last year and it's since come to be a go-to look.

Felt professional and chic today.

Just what I needed.

Had glittery nude looks dancing in my head from yesterday's CFDA Awards.

Also can't stop thinking about the fabulous neutrals on Jak and Jil recently.

I HIGHLY encourage you to mix neutrals this summer.

Simple way to look fresh but still vibe "office appropriate."

Warning: neutrals are NOT the best choice for lapping up ice cream with baby piggies.

Light colored clothing is best reserved for happy hours with their boozehound mommies.

"Baby Crack" is a perfect description. People have been sneaking me doses left, right and backwards. Not good, dude, not good. :/
