The Scene
The last time Mr. Diabolina, Danny B. and Mr. Saint all lived in the same city, they had just graduated from their all boys prep high school. They didn't have gray hair. Or girlfriends. Fast-forward 13 years and they have both.

Plus Mr. Saint has finally returned to Southern California for a fancy schmancy managment job in The OC. Today he invited us out to spy his new Newport digs.

While the boys spent the morning golfing, Daisy Duke's, Ms. Laura and I occupied ourselves with less sporty, more girlie things.

Which entailed three B's: brunching

And boozing

And Burberry.

We spent nearly two hours at Nordstrom Rack.

Dug and dug and unearthed some great Milly pieces

And tons of DVF

Unfortunately most were too big.

LOVED this print but the fit wasn't very flattering head on.

Though Daisy Duke's loved my tush in it. {shy face}

I loved HER tush in this Tracey Reese dress.

I found it in my size and hers so we could both try it on. Figured one of us had to leave with a $500 dress marked down to $85.

Looked beautiful on but felt weird in the chest on both of us. Have to be extra careful when shopping at outlets or discount stores. The pieces they carry often have some kind of fit defect - that's why no one bought them.

The fit of these Trina Turk dresses was better but still off. Sooo sad since they were under $100 each and fun summery prints.

Daisy Duke's emerged with only a pair of J Brand skinnies for about $60. Ms. Laura was the big winner with three pairs of shoes and a necklace. I scored a pair of Italian snakeskin sandals with wooden heels for $29 and an Elizabeth and James fuschia top for $39. YUM.

Went from girlie girl things

To weiners with weiners.

Mr. Saint grilled up a tasty feast for dinner

Think his homemade BBQ sauce was the secret.

Relaxing time catching up with old friends

And lovely new ones.

And the double margaritas weren't half bad either.

The Outfit
Forever 21 dress

The Accessories
Dior sunglasses
Marc by Marc Jacobs zipper earrings
Louis Vuitton bangle
Chanel bag
Claire's headband
Stuart Weitzman sandals

The Grade
B

The Commentary

Wanted to wear a maxi

Or a romper today

But ended up in this dress I picked up about 3 years ago at Forever for less than $25.

Similar to this more than $200 dress currently on Shopbop. Love everything about this kind of dress.

The jersey material

The low neckline

The swirl of colors

And sexy back

Thought about adding a belt to it today

Or some kind of necklace

But in the end, I wore it how I always wear it - simple and casual and easy. Did add one magic accessory though - the braided headband. Matched the dress' braided neckline AND managed to tame the curls. No easy feat ;)

The colours on the dress look great on you. You did well, I thought the grade should be A.

Ugh. I love the Rack. When I travel for work my car is a heat seeking missle for that store when I see it...so jealous you have one so close.
