The Scene

First, the good news: After working out today, it took me under five minutes to get my hair straighter than I normally get it after half an hour of blow drying and another 10 minutes with a flat iron. Dreams can come true, boys and girls.

I seriously owe Nicole Richie a thank you tweet. Confession: Twitter is only feeding my star fucker tendencies. Now I really think celebrities are my friends. Not gouda.

Now for the bad news: Dropped by Crossroads today and these Marc Jacobs booties that I've loved for ages were waiting for me. Hardly been worn, pristine condition. Just $45. EEEEEEEEEEE!

They were an 8 1/2 which SEEMED perfect. I run between an 8 and a 9 in Marc. But OF COURSE in this shoe I am a 9. Shuffled out of the store like a heartbroken hobbit. Mr. Diabolina looked like he was going to cry. So at least I've got someone who really feels my pain.

The Commentary

As an ode to Gossip Girl Mondays, I took inspiration from Blake and Leighton today.

I always manage to make shorts look so preppy (read: boring.)

Want to try my hand at making them a bit edgier next time.

Chose this embellished top today because it's got a built in statement necklace - LOVE!

Added the bangles to play off the animal print for a very Louis Vuitton effect.

And wore the new Sam Edelman sandals. Yes, again. Realized I've never had a sandal that wraps around the ankle like this. Think the style is sweetly addicting.

Over the last year of blogging and with my shoe closet busting at the seams, I have come to terms with the fact that I am a Carrie, a true shoe-aholic. If I could only buy one fashion item for the rest of my life, it would definitely be shoes. Definitely, definitely shoes.

For me, they are the best way to breathe new life into an old outfit. They fit whether you lose or gain weight. They shift how you carry yourself and how others see you. They're truly tiny works of art on your tootsies.

To quote Coco Chanel: "A woman with good shoes is never ugly."

What's your fashion addiction?

Coco said all the best things. You look great and I soo feel your pain with the boots.

Obviously this statement will not come as a shock but I concur wholeheartedly re: your thoughts on shoes. Nuff said.

Not sure I have a particular fashion addiction - unless you consider my collection of red jackets (or red anything for that matter).

I must politely disagree with Ms. Chanel on that quote ... two words ... Imelda Marcos.

Your hair looks great. Do you use any product on it before or after drying?

For me, it's shoes AND belts. You know I can't resist a good belt.

Can I affectionately refer to you as a shoe whore, then? ;) My friend, who is a stand-up comedian has a whole routine about being a shoe whore. Next time she is local, you must come see it. Would have you in stitches. :)
