The Scene
Celebratory evening for JCH tonight. That lucky ducky is done with finals and has a whirlwind Europe vacation to look forward to next month.

I suggested Anisette for dinner. Have been dying to try it for months. Was not disappointed. The decor and food were both delicious - deliciously Frenchy. Perfect preview of Paris for JCH.

Her new ring will also be tres chic in the city of lights. She bought my second to last ring tonight. One size 6 left. Email me if you are interested.

Ended the night with NBC's incredible Thursday night line-up. Good gawd, every show was funnier than the next, no? I nearly died when Salma Hayek said "Lemon, isn't there a slanket somewhere you should be filling with your farts?" If you aren't following Tina Fey on Twitter, do it right now, thank me later ;)

The Commentary

Today's outfit was inspired by our First Lady

And MTV's first socialite.

A few months ago, I saw Michelle and Olivia in green dresses that reminded me of a little number I had in the back of my closet.

A halter dress that cost me all of $40 and I wore for my 27th birthday - that's five years ago for those of you who are counting.

I rarely dust it off because although it is a gorgeously flattering color, it is not the most flattering shape on me. The material is quite unforgiving and there is a whole weird ruching situation in the midsection.

But today thanks to the queen of mean Olivia I realized I could pair it with a belt and a jacket - breathing completely new life into an old old look.

The brown and the black would never have occured to me.

I've always done metallics with the green dress.

But just by adding the brown belt

And the black jacket

You transform an evening look into work attire.

Got lots of compliments around The Office today.

Wish I had rocked it with as much attitude as Drew worked this one-shouldered look.

Current obsession: asymmetrical dresses.

Would be great for my birthday party theme this year - I'm thinking Bollywood! Do you love????

NBC nailed it last week.

Alex just got back from Europe and he says there is a genius West End show about the history of Bollywood.

Love the off the shoulder look. I bought a super cutie on Ebay last week from the UK and the wait to have it arrive is killing me. I'd attach a pic but I just plain old don't know how!

Green is one of my favorite colors, and this reminds me of a green dress I haven't worn in a while...
