The Scene

Gorgeous day in Lalaland.

My sole fashion mission today was picking up some Diorette inspired rings to ship out to readers who contacted me. When I called the Fashion District store, however, they apologetically told me they sold out weeks ago. Boo. But despair not, they are hoping to get another shipment soon. Will keep those of you who emailed posted.

So the mission shifted from rings to sunglasses. Sad to report my mom had issues with her Missoni sunglasses too. Face fit issues as well. F.

She returned them today and picked up these silly totally impractical MJ ones instead. Purple and dark blue! Great fit though. Can't wait to be an old grand dame with money to burn.

I'd buy this MJ bag

And this Fendi tote fo' sho'

But for now I buy at Forever 21 - in bulk. Fell in love with these amazing sandals. NEED NEED NEED them for our upcoming Mexico and Hawaii vacations. Unfortunately, none in my size.

Also loving these Alexander Wang fringe copies. Perfect for Fashion Toast, no?

Found incredible clothing that actually fit at Forever today. For the first time in at least 6 months. Had a bit of spree - three tops, two skirts and one dress. $160. Not bad.

Had a lovely lunch at The Little Next Door with my adorable momma and her Marc heart top. Can you believe I had never had a macaroon before? Don't tell the pig police ;)

Dinner at home with Mr. D. We stayed up watching TV waaaay past our bedtime. Didn't want the weekend to end.

The Commentary

Built the outfit around this jacket. Got it on sale at Macy's for less than $25 a few weeks back. Fit is just alright. Liked the collar and the buttons and the princess length sleeve. The color is gorgeous though.

Purple is always a favorite of mine but it's got me gaga lately.

It was all over the Spring runways.

Loving these mix-and-match pieces from Vera Wang's appropriately named Lavender line.

Adoring this one shouldered number too. Though it's more of a wine color.
Mostly because I heart that gossip girl-esque Gwynnie.

Hate that she is getting sooo much grief for her GOOP enewsletter. Can't a hot smug chick just blog and share her opinions on food, fashion and philosophy in peace! Sheesh!

Chose all the accessories before settling on this dress. Wasn't sure it would all work together. Still not convinced it did.

But loved that AH-gain the print was reminiscent of this Lanvin leopard I cannot stop thinking about.

Debuted these JESSICA SIMPSON shoes today. Bought them for about $30 last year. Kinda a mistake. Forgot that you get what you pay for with cheap heels - discomfort and sweaty grossness. Blech.

Loved the colors though. Great pops of color on the tootsies. Think I could get alot of use out of them. Probably better to invest in a more well made version. Like these Kirkwoods on Jak and Jill. I SIMPLY DIE!

The cheapie necklace on the other hand still has me 100 percent smitten.

Today it felt alot like the Gucci necklace that's everywhere this spring.

Particularly loving the stones in purple.

The color combination of this whole outfit ended up very Spring 2009 Gucci.

Adore the flowy femininity.

Am dying for a new maxi.

One shouldered ideally.

And one that matches my mom's new sunglasses would be a dream too!

try the survey again. we hit 100 responses (the max we can gather for free.) so had to set it up again under a different name. let me know if it's still not working.
