Still reeling from yesterday's events. Wake up worried that it was all a dream.
Until I check my email where this email from Shopbop sits waiting. It features stars and stripes fashion in red, white and blue. Obviously the online retailier is trying to ride the patriotic wave. Smart.
But look closer. Look at who is modeling the all-American looks. Even smarter. Now I could count on one hand the times I've seen shopbop use a black model in email campaigns. On the website, yes. In people's inbox, no.
It's just a little thing. A little marketing manipulation. But believe me, it's the sign of a tide turning. As Obama said yesterday, a seismic shift has occurred and reverting back to the old ways of doing things is not an option. A new day has dawned.
Spent most of the day keeping tabs on my Obama and Peaches. After all, the first day on the job is never easy. Whether you are a president or an actor ;)
Adored this first picture of Obama in the Oval Office. The press is making a big hullabaloo about him disregarding Bush's jacket only policy. Ugh. Anyone else DYING over the irony of the man who spent more days on vacation than any other president telling anyone how they should dress while working??
F@$! silly antiquated rules - sartorial and otherwise. It's time to get this country back on it's feet. Even as a fashionista, I'd rather my president be comfortable while he leads the free world than follow a silly rule made by a silly man.
This is the second picture I poured over today. It's a publicity shot of Peach on stage that's been blown up into a life size poster. And it now sits on Hollywood Blvd!!! He hates it. I looooove it. Can't wait to take funny pictures with it.
Another thing I love: all of you!! Thank you to the 50 of you who have taken My Super Sweet Style Assessment. Means alot that you shared your fashion strengths and weaknesses with me. Plan to do dedicated posts to the styling questions many of you raised.
And for those of you who indicated you'd be interested in a personal consultation: YAYAYAYAYA and I will email you soon. If you haven't taken the survey, here it is again. Kiss.

Tried to keep the look Spring 2009 blingy since it felt a bit sedated being sooooo comfortable and all.
Much prefer it's versatility than this gray Alex Wang sweater the whole blogosphere is mooning over.
I'd much rather get this Forever sweater. Just $27.
100% focus on comfort today. Trying to wear my boots as much as possible since it seems winter is close to being over in L.A. Loving the brown paired with the monochromatic grays. Perfect winter to spring transition colors.
Gray will still be hot next Fall. Balenciaga showed gray leggings in their pre-fall collection.
Loving the odd, drop crotch, droopy diaper cut of these. So fugly, I need!

Busted out the Chanel blingy to match the sparkly neckline of the tunic and the subtle sparkle knitted into this sweater. This sweater is hands down one of my best all time Forever 21 purchases.

I saw the stud bracelets on them and when to get me one as well...so darn cute!
I'm mad for gray: gray jeans, gray jackets, reupholstering my furniture in a gray wool flannel worthy of a suit. (Done.) Next I'm painting walls gray to match the newly tailored chair. Armani has gone to my head! Everything should be gray!
It's timeless, understated and elegant. Like the Obamas.
Speaking of whom, I did a double take at Prez-O's photo in the WSJ yesterday. We have such a GOOD LOOKING first couple. And smart. And they READ. F! I can't stand it. I actually IDENTIFY with this President. Weird. I want to know what's on his new bedside table to read at night when he gets done leading the free-world at the end of the day.
Love the blog. Love the survey. Love a back-lit poster of Peaches on Hollywood Blvd!
I love this outfit, but I think I love the studded cuff bracelet the most. So cute!
I was thinking, "I need to take a picture of my gray sweater for Diabolina because she'll really like it." Then I realized I sort of have a picture here: http://wbjewelry.blogspot.com/2007/07/here-i-am-wearing-boleyn-necklace.html
I still need to take a picture of the gray ribbon detail for you!
Hey Diabs,
Yay Obama!
Love your outfit, and great call on the shopbop thing!! One small step for advertising, one giant leap for racial equality!

Ms D - Can ladies in Australia do your survey???
FLS,
Anyone anywhere can take the survey AND sign up for a personal consultation.
kisses!
Love your outfit! That sweater looks so cozy.
Oh, just another example of what Bush was really focused on during his time in office.
I say screw the jacket!
It seems like the whole nautical look is supose to make a new comeback for spring, i've seen some retail here stocking a lot of it.
Love this post! You look absolutely fabulous, as usual :]
And I love your profile pictures - you look lovely.
