The Scene
I love Martin Luther King Jr. Day. It not only celebrates one of this country's greatest leaders but it also marks the weekend I met Mr. D - waaay back in 1996.

We were on a USC retreat up in Big Bear. Jean Bean and Peaches were both there. It was snowing. Ugh. It was definitely one of the best weekends of my life - the weekend when young nerdy love flourished ;)



So today was the purrfect day to get our nerdy on. In the morning, Mr. D finally decided to get a new hipper pair of glasses. Tried on over a dozen pairs before settling on these. Cutie.









Then we got our 1996 on. Watched Notorious - the Biggie Smalls bio-pic. It covers the rise to fame of B.I.G., Tupac, P Diddy, Mary J Blige, and Lil Kim. LOVED IT!! If you were weaned on mid-nineties rap and hip hop like we were at USC, you have to see it.






After dinner, we found this cool Rasta Obama t-shirt for my mom at aaahs.




Love that she was proudly wearing yesterday's nerdy find a day early. Adorable.







We also might have picked up a little treat for ourselves. A snuggie one. That came with a reading light. Talk about nerdy!

Fell in love with this scarf when I saw it months ago. Found it on sale the first weekend of this month at Nordstrom. $26.









Feels a little like the LV Stephen Sprouse collection, no?



With the electric colors and bold print.









I am telling you: get your hands on a leopard print STAT.





It's not going anywhere this Fall. Was all over the Valli runway and several others.











Think a scarf is the easiest way to integrate the print.






To dip your toe in the water.








But I am warning you: Once you start





You won't be able to stop ;)
