The Scene
Confirmed my mom's MRI for next Tuesday. Gulp. The fear and emotion that's been put on the back burner is starting to bubble up again.

Thank god for Jak and Jil. Today's picture of the delicious Teen Vogue staff made me salivate and forget. If for a moment.

The Commentary
Still bananas for boots so built the outfit around this pair hoy. Got them last year at a very hit or miss resale shop called It's a Wrap, which sells clothing from major Hollywood studios. I've bought many a YSL shoe there and pawed clothing from the set of Charmed (confession: I was cuckoo for Alyssa Milano growing up. C-U-C-K-O-O.) These boots were fantastically cheap - $27. And unfortunately they look it. Wah.

They are the poor man's version of these BCBG boots. Just $120 currently on sale. Tried them on in San Fran. Incredibly comfortable like my flat chocolate BCBGs. Adore the neutral color and the gold detailing and the dip at the back. Alas, they didn't have an 8 1/2. Might try to hunt them down in L.A.

Selected the jeans next. Needed a pair that would tuck into the boots so opted for this Rich and Skinny pair of skinnies.

If they are good enough for Rich and Skinny Serena

They are good enough for me who is neither rich nor skinny :)

Rich and Skinny jeans retail for about $150. But I snagged mine on clearance for $50ish at Bloomie's a few months ago.

Highly recommend the fit. They do amazing things for one's lady lumps.

The light denim feels very right at the moment

Pairs perfectly with neutrals. Tres Parisian.

The Burberry-esque scarf also helps with the Euro flair.

Was inspired by my mom's real Burberry sass this weekend. Adore!

Now if only I could get my hands on a Burbery inspired cape.

And I love those thrifted boots - I always wish there were good thrift stores around were I live!

"many a YSL shoe" You're soooo my idol.

I adored Alyssa Milano too! I even called her 1-976 number. *embarrassed*
