The Commentary

After a day of lounging around in my pjs, I felt like a little glamour and glitter tonight.

Nothing like sequins to help you sparkle. When I saw this $27 jacket at Forever I HAD to have it. Love how unexpected it is, love the dichotomy of a casual hoodie shape with a glam sequinned material. Brilliant.

Took my inspiration from this flawless image from un fille comme moi. Love everything about it - the languid leaning, the looped scarf, the evening sparkle with the cargo pant, the socks with sandals, the bowler bag. Euro elegance at it's finest.

Alas, my look was a little more Juicy Couture meets Liberace. But I got lots of compliments and felt great in the getup. Very cool girl chic.

A little like M.I.A.

with a dash of Lily Allen.

Love how they can go from street to high fashion.

So do Marc and Karl.

Ugh. Karl is such a pimp in sequins.

Looked at a delish sequin Tory Burch dress at Nordstrom Rack but couldn't justify the frivilous expenditure when the world is exploding.

Will have to just settle for oggling Proenza Schouler on Style.com for now.

And Yves Saint Laurent.

Not sure I could pull off Hammer sequin pants even if they are YSL

Or sequin hot pants even if they are Chanel

But the McQueen wine colored leggings would be a no brainer. Got $2,345 you can lend me?

No? Well can you at least help me find a picture of the celebrity that wore this jacket? I think it was Gwen Stefani. I think I remember a bow in her hair. Ugh. Adore. Need.

weemo,

it's part of the CPK conglomerate. so it's a chain - not much to review. i used to eat lunch there alot when I worked near manhattan beach. i love the seafood bisque and the chinese crunch salad and the mac and cheese. and the strawberry lemonade.

confession: i really wanted to dislike the outfit, but honestly, it just works on you. the pieces don't feel like they should work together (at least not in my mind), but i love it.

and this, m'dear, is the reason you write a fashion blog and i do not. ;)
