The Scene
TGIF after a crazy work week. But unfortunately, there's no end in sight. I have a big launch next week. And Mr. Diabolina has a big trial the following week. Blech.

Can't believe Halloween is just around the corner and we haven't even begun to look for costumes. Not like us at all. Boo.

Tonight I randomly got nostalgic for Benihanna. Haven't been there in nearly a decade. Mr. D was kind enough to indulge me and turn the car around as we passed it on Restaurant Row.

Unfortunately, there's a reason we haven't been in forever. It was kinda, um, ghetto. When did that happen? Was it always like that??? Wait...could it be...Am I the ghetto one?

Tried to make the most of it (read: make each other laugh and suck down cocktails.) Lovely night with my love. We've gotten good in our old age at turning faux paus into fun.

The Outfit
Forever 21 jacket and dress
The Accessories
Marc Jacobs bag and bracelet
Mango ribbon necklace
Chanel earrings
Urban Outfitters sandals
The Grade
Pass

The Commentary
Knew it was going to be a long day at work and that I'd likely have to go straight from work to dinner. Wanted to feel comfortable but date night sassy. Tall order.

Built the outfit from the ground up. Choose the flat sandals and then the jersey bubble dress because both are the definition of easy. When in doubt do as Coco would: go the LBD route. Always chic. The world has enough jean wearers.

This eyelet jacket is one of the most versatile pieces I own.

Love that it resembled some of my favorite looks on the
Fendi Spring 2009 runway. Well except my jacket was under $30. I doubt I could by one Fendi eyelet (a hole) for that :)

Interpreted this season's winter floral trend with the sublte rose print on my dress and a fun MJ bracelet. Matchy matchy goodness.

Rosettes were also big on the Fendi Spring runway. Ugh, I am a sucker for such girlie girliness.

That Karl! He gets me. He completes me.

Benihana has always been that way, my dear friend. If you love teppan, I recommend Garden Grill at the Kyoto Grand Hotel in Little Tokyo, and, if you're in Vegas, Okada at The Wynn will delight you.

Faux paus into fun nights are usually the best.

Benihana never really oozed class :-D
It sounds like a fun way to slum though.

I think you deserve more than pass. And I really like your hair up that way. Very sophisticate.

I know watcha mean about Benihana's. It's not super cheap but it is kinda ghetto.

The BH one hasn't been remodeled which makes the experience even worse. I got food poisoning at that location. Bleh!

I love that jacket. I bought something similar in navy but it's not as cute.

I don't remember it being so ghetto in college but I bet I had lower standards. Also, it's been 10 years....it could easily have declined. I do remember it being really yummy though....
