The Scene
Crazy day at work after being out yesterday. Blech.

In the evening, meet up with twentysomethings for drinks at The Huntley.

Then us thirtysomethings hunker down for an obscenely decadent dinner.

We figure Rome is burning, we might as well eat, drink and try to be merry in its amber glow.

That means crab cakes and sliders and fries and mac and cheese and beef wellington and steaks.

Oh and martinis and chocolate. Lots of martinis and lots of chocolate.

It also means shamelessly flirting with our gorgeous, YOUNG waiter.

Fun funny night talking fashion, politics, careers, money and aging.

It's a tough scary time for so many of us right now. I think coming together with friends and laughing and communing is the only way to stay sane.

The Outfit

The Accessories

The Commentary
Had little desire to go into work today. I mean the last two days outside of work have just been sooo amazing - NKOTB AND my mom's citizenship ceremony. I kinda need the weekend to recover from so much excitement.

That's probably why I grabbed this casual, easy dress. It's the closest thing that I have to the shirtdress I've been wanting. Thought about adding a belt ala Jenni Kayne Spring 2009 but wasn't feeling creative enough.

Picking out these two bangles to work with the outfit was about as creative as I could get this morning.

Realized as I was getting out of the car at work just how short this dress is. Nearly pulled a Britney and flashed a co-worker. Ugh.

I typically balance the shortness of the dress with a casual flat. But was feeling like living dangerously today so I picked out the Gucci platforms.

Sable Crow remarked on the shortness of my dress during dinner.

Eeks! You know a dress is short when a gay man notices.

Ugh. I love me some gay men. Just LOOK at their outfits tonight. SC's tailoring= impeccable. Mr. Architect's new G-star gear= fabulousness.

Tonight both of these yummy men admitted to stepping up their fashion choices just for me and my blog. Loves!
