The Scene
Single most demoralizing day. The things you witness in corporate boardrooms still shock and disturb me. Found myself bawling to my mom on the drive home. She was equally horrified when I described what happened, advised me to move on...ASAP.

Wish that was the answer. Have to see this thing through. Have a feeling it's all going to resolve itself within a few months anyway. Must have faith this is all leading to something. Or at least to the next thing.

The Commentary
For those of you who have been reading since last year, you might remember this is the outfit I wore to quit my last job just one year ago. Ironic that I was wearing it today, no? Or maybe it was a sign.

Built the outfit around this new ring I got in the Fashion District.

Saw it and instantly thought Marni - the flower, the curves, the color palette, the exaggerated size. Ugh. Adore. Never want to take it off. Must get the matching necklace...

Earrings

And bracelet.

The new ring is a little Marc Jacobs Spring too

He did alot of Marni like jewelry. Fashion is so derivative.

Even the Karta-esque detailing on my dress was a bit like this MJ brooch which is alot like the Marni accessories. All yum.

The earrings I also picked up in the Fashion District for under $20. Knew they'd work deliciously with this wrap sweater.

They also reminded me vaguely of Vuitton.

Not quite as tribal but referrential.

Adoring these statement earrings. Keep your eyes peeled for similar ones for me. And for my elusive dream jobby job too ;)

  5. Ok, from one writer to another, I HAVE to get this off my chest:

It's "bawling," not "balling" (unless there was something really dirty going on, then ok :D)

    "ridiculous," not "rediculous"

And for the love of all that is holy, there are two words to "a lot."

    Ok, I feel better now.

  12. kiss to all of you for the kisses about work. really and truly. today's incident wasn't anything directed at or perpetrated against me. it was just general AIG, Phillip Morris nefariousness.

anonymous: thanks for the engrish lesson - it's not my first language after all. would love to read what you write. is it a blog you write every day after a 10 hour work day? leave that link next time.

  15. Love me some Diabolina laying down the law.

    Respect is spelled: D-I-A-B-O-L-I-N-A.

Pretty clothes, and love Jean Bean with bangs. It's tempting to annoint her a fashion queen, but YOU had them first. I'm just sayin'.

And I'm always impressed that--within a few days--you catalogue a complete blog entry with reference photos, commentary, and enough details to keep us going. To hell with the spelling; this is organic blogging anyway.

If you want good grammar, go read a newspaper. Oh, that's right: THEY'RE DYING.

F that you had to delete a comment. F. Like they sing in "Chicago": What Ever Happened To Class?

  19. late to this party, but just have to point out two things:

    1) love how D always looks fab, even on the most down days

    2) anonymous: perhaps you are confusing the term "writer" for "proofreader." please leave the beautiful prose to real writers like D and go back to your copy desk.
